Corrections
Unit 2 - Lesson 4
We failed to include one of the chapter titles from The Turtle of Oman in the Activity Ideas box on page 19. For this lesson, you should read three chapters: “Earplugs,” “Lemon,” and "Good-bye, Turquoise and Limestone".
Unit 17 - Lesson 51
In the Atlas Workbook, we put the label for "Kenya" on Ethiopia. Kenya is the country colored green directly south of the Kenya label.
Suggestions for Co-ops and Other Group Classes
The 4th edition features new and updated lessons related to election integrity, decisions of the Supreme Court, and international relations. The curriculum includes updated statistics and many new photographs, illustrations, and charts. The companion volume of readings, We Hold These Truths, includes some new selections.
For the 2016 edition, Ray Notgrass made a major revision and update to the text, which was printed in full color with a hardback binding. The curriculum had a completely new layout with hundreds of color photos and illustrations, a new optional English/literature half-year credit, hands-on project and writing ideas for every unit, and a completely revised Student Review Pack designed for ease of use. The Student Review Pack for this edition is available for purchase as a digital download.
The 2008 paperback edition had a completely redesigned page layout with many new illustrations. Author Ray Notgrass made some changes to the text, but the lesson content was essentially the same as the original edition. The Quiz and Exam Pack for this edition is available for purchase as a digital download.
In 2024 we released the first and only edition of Our Great Big World.
